High Plains Insurors is being built on something simple:
Protecting the Good Life with Strength in Coverage and Heart in Service.
Our agency is owned by Richard and Tarra Terry. Together we have built our lives around family, hard work, and community. We married in 2001 and raised our two sons in Perkins County.

Tarra has more than fifteen years of experience in insurance, helping families, farmers, and business owners protect what they’ve worked so hard to build. Tarra grew up moving around the western United States, living in Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, California, and eventually Nebraska. After graduating from Ogallala High School in 1998, she attended Mt. San Jacinto Community College and Riverside Community College in California, earning an Associate’s Degree in Math and Science. In 2003 she earned her Accounting Certificate. Shortly after, she began building a career in financial services, eventually finding her true calling in the insurance industry.
When Tarra entered the insurance world, she quickly discovered that she loved helping people protect their future. She first obtained her Property & Casualty license, followed by Life and Health insurance soon after so she could help families with every stage of life. In 2018 she earned her LUTCF designation to further strengthen her ability to guide clients not only through insurance decisions but also long-term financial protection. Over the years, Tarra developed a strong background in commercial insurance while continuing to serve families with home, auto, and life insurance. Her passion is helping clients protect what she calls their “Good Life” — from young individuals starting out, to growing families, to business owners building their livelihood.
Richard Terry, brings a lifetime of real-world experience that deeply shapes the heart of the agency. Richard grew up on a farm outside of Grant, Nebraska, where hard work started early. From a very young age, he learned responsibility through daily chores, equipment maintenance, and solving problems that come with farm life. After graduating, he spent years working in physically demanding industries including trucking, construction materials, tire service, equipment operation, and business ownership. He worked his way from the end of a shovel to operating heavy equipment and driving truck in Southern California. Richard later owned and operated a tire business in Grant for ten years, where he served farmers, ranchers, truckers, and working families across the area.

Their shared experiences — farming roots, blue-collar work, small business ownership, and raising a family in rural Nebraska — shape the way they approach insurance. They understand that insurance isn’t just about policies and paperwork. It’s about protecting farms that have been in families for generations, businesses that support local communities, and families who simply want peace of mind.
At High Plains Insurors, our goal is straightforward: provide strong coverage, honest advice, and personal service so our clients can focus on enjoying the life they’ve worked so hard to build.
Because around here, protecting the Good Life isn’t just business — it’s personal.
